I took a day off today to go shopping with Aunty Jenny to Ikea Tampines. We shopped for 3 hours there and it was a pretty fruitful trip. Haven't gone shopping for such a long stretch of time for quite a while but was happy for a change from the routine. Aunty Jenny was also doing pretty well and managed to get a few items for herself as well. After Ikea, we went to pick Pam up from school then head back home. About half an hour after reaching home, we (Mum, Aunty Jenny, Lily & Pam) went out to a departmental store near our house to buy some household items & fruits. Wow, we found some real bargains from this new found store and felt so good with the savings. After that, pick-up Jonathan and head back home. This is a day of shopping with my loved ones and it's a change from my routine. Once in a while having a change from the routine does make a difference.

Last Friday, Daniel & myself met up with 2 couples for dinner at one of the couple's home. One of the couple is one that we have not met for the last 10 years and it was so good to be able to meet up with old friends and recollect the good old days. A decade had gone by since we last met but the friendship that we had for the last 2 decades is one that would last for a long time. Last night, we had dinner with another couple and we haven't had a quiet dinner and fellowship with them for at least one and a half years. We had a good time catching up with each other and was so glad that despite their very busy schedule, they took time out for dinner last night. Friendship takes time to build and for it to last, we have to make time for it. We are so blest to have so many good friends around us.

National day is around the corner and we are looking forward to a break on a Saturday.
