Paul's blood test results was not too good. His liver function test was pretty bad and his oncologist sent him for a ct-scan and it showed his intestine and liver were distended. Based on preliminary observation as the official report will be out only tomorrow morning, we spoke to Dr Chua who did the scan, though there's no tumour found in the liver, the small intestine where the bile passes thru was narrowed at the end due to the presence of tumour and the pressure of pushing the bile into the stomach might be the reason why he's feeling the pain so often. Dr Chua also noticed the duct in the liver is abit distended too.

According to both the surgeon and the oncologist, the only chance which is not a guaranteed one for paul to be able to eat and remove the tubes is another major operation but this is going to be a very high risk op as firstly, there may be complications after the surgery, secondly whether his body is able to take such a major operation and lastly, the tumour may also make it more complicated as it will bleed profusely and it's going to be life-threatening. I certainly wouldn't want my hubby to go thru it but to him, it's the quality of life he wants.

He has been very frustrated all these months for not being able to consume food orally and he hates having the two tubes attached to him 24/7, he had been so active all his life, jogging and golfing almost every other day, travelling and trying all kinds of food but had not been able to do any of the above for more than 6mths....

I truly understand his agony but I just can't let him take such a dangerous route.

Lily
